Combo Ballet/ Tap is a great way to introduce the younger dancers to class. We work on the basics of stretching, ballet and also tap sounds. This class teaches the dancers how to listen and work together with other dancers as well. Ages 3-4 & 5-6
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. We learn how to tell and story through dance and expression. Ages 10+
Creative movement is a great way to introduce 2-3 years olds to dance class. During the 45 min class they will be working on Ballet basics, listening, and working together as a class. Each week our awesome teachers have planned different themes such as princesses/ princes or music.
Ballet is an art form created by the movement of the human body. It is theatrical – performed on a stage to an audience utilizing costumes, scenic design and lighting. It can tell a story or express a thought, concept or emotion.
Pointe technique is the part of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes.
Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.
Jazz dance is a form of modern dance which is heavily influenced by the sounds, rhythms, and techniques of jazz music. This dance form went on to heavily influence Broadway choreography and, in turn, Hollywood choreography, and it has also been introduced into ballet and modern dance.
Jazz/Tap Funk combines the stylized Jazz funk and Tap dancing. This class is funky, upbeat and fun. Ages 9+
Lyrical is a style that blends Ballet and Jazz dance. Lyrical is generally smoother movements and a bit faster than Ballet. A Lyrical dancer uses movement to express strong emotions such as love, joy and anger. Lyrical dancers usually perform to music with lyrics...the lyrics chosen song serve as inspiration for movement and expressions. Ages 7+
Mini Hip-hop dance/Tumbling refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States. During Class the dancers will learn the basics of the style and get a workout also! Ages 4+
Musical Theater is for students who want to explore and expand their knowledge base in all three art forms. Combing the training of dance, dramatic arts, and vocal performance Students will learn about the various aspects of stage based performance all in a fun and trusting environment. Ages 7 & up.
Tap is a form of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. Two major variations on tap dance exist: rhythm (jazz) tap and Broadway tap.
Tumbling is a form of gymnastics which is performed without the assistance of props; you may also hear it referred to as floor gymnastics. Beginning tumbling will learn the basics of how to tumble the correct way with a dance twist! Ages 5+
Baton Twirling classes not only focus on teaching children how to twirl a baton, classes encourage teamwork, poise, hand teamwork, poise, hand eye coordination.
Voice is a group class, Students will learn to read music, harmonize, prepare for the stage performance and learn to audition Ages 10+
